Welcome to 4th Grade!

My name is Mrs. Nadine Mayer. I previously taught at another Catholic school for three years before coming to Immaculate Conception School. This will be my 22nd year teaching fourth grade at ICS. I grew up and lived in East Aurora before getting married. I love being able to come back to my hometown every day. I live in Derby with my husband and two children. I love spending time with my children. Damien is ten years old and is in fifth grade this year. Shayla is seven years old and is in second grade.

I love working at ICS because of the family-like environment. The families and students are wonderful. The faculty is very supportive and professional. I can't help but to have a smile on my face when I come to school each day. I enjoy teaching very much. I love watching the children blossom into thoughtful, intelligent Christian people.

I am very excited about the Common Core Curriculum. We will be studying about the Native Americans in English Language Arts and Social Studies this year. The students will build longhouses and create wampum belts in class. We will learn all about New York State in Social Studies. In Math, we focus on a variety of topics including place value, multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry. The fourth graders will be studying about plants and ecosystems in Science. In Religion, we learn all about the Ten Commandments and Beatitudes. The children work together to become loving and thoughtful Christians. I am looking forward to working with the children this year.

Happy School Year!
